Biblical Explanation Of John 8:32 That You Need To Know , God wants his children to know the truth, and this is one of the reasons why he has given them his Holy Spirit to guide them into all truth, and since God’s word is truth (John 17:17), and it’s quick and powerful, and by it God upholds all things (Hebrews 1:3), knowing the truth will not only set them free, but will also make God uphold them with his hand of righteousness (Isaiah 41:5), and John 8:32 gives a deeper meaning of it which I want to share with you in this article.
Here is the Biblical explanation of John 8:32.
” And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
According to the Bible passage given above, ” And ye shall know the truth”, this means that God will make you know the truth, and he does this by speaking to you through his Holy Spirit and makes you know the truth about your sins, and in John 8:34-36, the truth is that anyone who sins is a slave of sin and cannot abide in the house forever, but it’s only a Son that abides forever, and anyone the Son sets free will become free from sin indeed. A slave doesn’t abide in the house forever means that a slave of sin cannot abide in heaven because it is God’s house (place of abode), and the goal of God is to make his children abide with him in heaven (John 14:2-3).
” And the truth shall make you free.” this second part simply means that the truth (God’s word) shall make you free from the bondage of sin, and you will be changed from a slave of sin to a Son of God. According to 1John 1:8, anyone who doesn’t acknowledge any of his sins deceives himself or herself and the truth which should have set such a person free doesn’t abide in him. This means that the truth operates in God’s children by making them know their sin and as they confess them, God will cleanse them from all their unrighteousness.
As children of God, we must submit to the Holy Spirit so that he can guide us into all truth and as well make us know the truth and becomes freed by it because God desires that we know the truth and obtain freedom from sin by it.
