Pastor E.A Adeboye Tribute To Prophet TB Joshua

June 2021 Thanksgiving Service.
Text: Isaiah 55: 3
Topic: The Sure Mercies of David.

“The Sure Mercies of David” carries 3 crucial words
Mercy, Sure and David. What is Mercy: it is a word that has many other words that can be associated with it, like Grace, Compassion, Kindness. According to the common man, Mercy is what gets you what you don’t deserve. Every good thing you desire, mercy will get it for you today
In Mark 10:46-52, the beggar begged for mercy and he received his healing by mercy. In Mark 1:40-45
We see the story of the Leper who Jesus healed because He had compassion on him.
When God decides to show mercy, He will break all rules

Every rule that God must break, in order for you to get your miracle, may you get it through the mercy of God. In Eoh 2: 4-6, we see how God boasts of His wealth in mercy, He is rich in Mercy.

The second word is Sure
It means: certain, unchangeable, fixed, already settled. In Jer 33:20-21, when God wanted to boast about his mercy, He re-emphasised how sure His covenant is with David.
The reason the word “sure” was applied to God’s Mercies with David is because not all mercies are sure. Even David’s ordination as King, was by the Sure Mercies from God.
There are 3 ways of doing things.
1) The good way
2) The bad way
3) The God way.

Our God is a God that does as He pleases. An example of God’s unquestionable ways is Solomons’s ascension to the throne as king. The same God that ordained Saul as king is the same God that rejected him as king, simply because he disobeyed God.
But the same God anointed David as king and showed him mercy despite all his atrocities in 2nd Samuel 11. There are mercies that are sure, and mercies that are not sure. Which one do you want?

Why did David enjoy Sure Mercies from God?
1) His repentance was genuine
2) He was humble
3) He was grateful, he thanked God always.
4) He was a testifier
5) He was desirable to God 100%

In the name that is above every other name, I have the authority to declare, everyone of you under the sound of my voice, you will enjoy the sure mercies of David.

Pray: Almighty God, please have mercy on me!
