“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Here, the Bible advises us that everything we do, we should give glory to God. Before we eat, we should learn to give glory to God for the provision of food.

2. In Matthew 26:26, the Bible says:

“Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing, it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”

This is something we can learn from the life of Jesus during the last supper. He took the bread and the first thing he did was to bless it before he broke it. We should also follow this example and understand that prayer comes first.

3. In Philippians 4:6-7, the Bible says

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God”

Irrespective of how good the food look, you should not be too anxious to eat it. You need to spend a few minutes and bless the hand that provided the food and also thank God, who provided the food.

4. In Colossians 3:17, the Bible says:

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”

Here, we are advised to do everything in the name of Jesus and this entails we should bless our food with the name of Jesus before we eat. Praying in the name of Jesus is very important.
